It is really easy to say “Quit Smoking”; however, for chain smokers it could be a hard decision to do so. But now, medical experts say it could be the best thing you could do for a healthy life, and eventually it will also save your hard earned money.

If the reports of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are to be believed, one in every five deaths that are being reported in the United States of America is somehow related to smoking. Moreover, the CDC also points out that since 1964, when the first Surgeon General’s report on smoking and health came out, approx. 10 million people have already died from various causes certified to smoking which includes emphysema, heart disease, and other respiratory ailments in the United States of America. And, out of this, two million people died by getting infected with lung cancer.

Chain smokers, or people who smoke more than a pack of cigarettes per day, are at greater risk. The CDC also reported that among American adults, approx. 3,000 people, who are exposed to second hand smoke, die after suffering from lung cancer. Scientific study also linked second hand smoke with severe heart ailments. Apart from this, the American Cancer Society (ACS) also said that 90 percent of people afflicted with oral cancer are in contact with tobacco.
