AIDS is a dreaded and serious disease that has killed millions till date and will continue taking the lives of more millions every minute. Once the HIV virus enters the human body, it targets the immune system, thus killing the natural antibodies. These antibodies are the only medium that helps bodies to fight various infections and other viruses. Though there was no particular cure, patients infected with the HIV virus could only follow a healthy lifestyle with resort to some drugs and treatments.

But recently, Israeli scientists have come up with a promising new treatment that can prevent this life threatening and dreaded disease to a large extent. This new treatment promises to kill the HIV infected cells of the human body and thus prevents full blown AIDS. Current treatments available till now could only inhibit the reproduction of HIV virus, and many a times also harms the healthy cells. But the new treatment can completely destroy the infected cells without harming or destroying the healthy ones.

This is a major breakthrough in the field of science and medicine, but has still got to be tested on animals and humans.

According to the World Health Organization, around 33.4 million people suffer from Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that causes AIDS.
