Numerous studies have proved that breakfast is one of the most essential meals of the day. School going children who tend to skip their breakfast have always shown poor performance throughout the day. They are usually exhausted and drained out with less concentration power and energy. Similarly adults who regularly have their breakfast tend to perform much better in office, and it helps them kick off the morning dizziness.

Breakfast prepares an individual for the day and promotes vitality, short-term memory, mental alertness, physical health, concentration, and helps reduce stress. After long hours of sleep, the body requires glucose to refuel energy. And a healthy breakfast helps to refuel these glucose levels that further helps in proper functioning of the brain and body throughout the day. Just compare your body to a car that starts out on a long journey. If you do not refuel it adequately, it is sure to break down in the middle of the journey.

An appropriate breakfast should be a combination of proteins and fiber that includes eggs, beans or dairy products, vegetables, whole grains and fruits. Carbohydrates are also essential, since the body breaks down carbohydrates into glucose. Skipping breakfast can help you lose weight is a misconception. In reality, studies have revealed that skipping breakfast is directly linked to development of obesity in children as well as adults.

So kick-start your day on a healthy note and have breakfast everyday!
